Bheemanna Khandre Institute of Technology (BKIT), Bhalki in Bidar district located at the northern tip of Karnataka was established in September 1982 under the visionary leadership of Dr. Bheemanna Khandre, Freedom Fighter and Ex. Minister in Government of Karnataka and with the blessings of Dr. Ma. Gha. Cha. Channabasava Pattadevaru. Our Institute is marching forward under the dynamic leadership of Er. Eshwar Khandre, Chairman BoG, Working President of KPCC and MLA of Bhalki constituency. The Institute is affiliated to VTU, Belagavi, approved by AICTE, accredited by IE(I) and NAAC with B++ grade. Institute is offering UG in Civil, Mechanical, E&CE, Computer Science, Chemical, CSE(Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning), CSE(Robotics & Artificial Intelligence), CSE(Data Science), MCA, M.Tech in Digital Communication & Networking, Computer Science & Engineering, Water Resources Management and Geo Technical Engineering, Ph.D. in Civil, Mechanical, E&CE, CSE, Chemical, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. The sprawling campus spreads over 35 acre of land and is located at 3 km. from Bhalki Railway Station and 170 km. from Hyderabad International Airport. At present, the 40th academic session is in progress and till now, 36 batches have passed out successfully. The Institute has a very magnificent building and good infrastructure featuring about 70,000 m2 built up area, well-equipped laboratories, seminar halls, Auditorium hall with capacity of 2500, Central Library having more than 70000 books, 17000 Titles and more than 2100 journals in print as well as in e-form, Lecture Halls, Computer Centre, 3 boys and 2 girls hostels accommodating about 700 boys and 350 girls respectively with internet facility, Canteen, Bank, ATM, Gymnasium, Sports facilities, Training & Placement Cell, NSS, Students Welfare Office, Co-operative Store and Consultancy Cell, NPTEL Nodal centre, Nodal center for virtual lab.
The Institute assists students in Training & Placement activities. Our placement record is 80% for eligible students. Till date more than 12000+ students have passed and are well placed in Government, Private and Public sector organizations in India and abroad.
The Institute has established centre of excellence in Internet of Things (IoT), Polymer Science (under CISSE), Virtual Labs in collaboration with IIT, Roorkee, IIIT, Hyderabad and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kerala. Currently the faculty members of BKIT, Bhalki are carrying out Research & Development activities of worth more than ` 4.2 crore sanctioned by VGST, Bengaluru, VTU, Belagavi, Ministry of IT&BT, Govt. of Karnataka and AICTE, New Delhi.
