City Engineering College, Bengaluru, was started in the year 2001 by the Jayanagar Education Society, Bengaluru. The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi and approved by AICTE , New Delhi. The College is located next to Gokulam Apartments, Pipe Line Road, off Kanakapura Road,Doddakallasandra, Bengaluru-62.

Dr. K. R. Paramahamsa, a Distingushed Academician, Educationist & Philanthropist is the Chairman of Jayanagar Education Society. Dr. K.R. Paramahamsa is an outstanding in an excellent academic environment from primary to research level. The special focus areas of his efforts are extended to disciplines of Engineering, Management, Science, Computer Applications and Hospitality Management. Dr. K.R. Paramahamsa has a very strong academic background. He is graduated from Loyola College, has an MBA from Mysore University, and Ph.D. from California University, USA. He has also completed Post Graduate Diploma in Epigraphy, Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Laws Management from IITC-Mumbai and LLB from Bangalore University adding value to his academic profile.

Dr. V. S. Ramamurthy, Principal of City Engineering College is well-known among Engineering Academia. His domains of expertise are Composite Materials, Materials Characterization and Metal Casting sciences & Engineering..He did his Bachelor degree BE and Master degree ME from UVCE Bangalore and Doctoral degree PhD under VTU. He has published 32 research papers in various International/National Journals and Conferences. He is a VTU approved research supervisor and has guided candidates for PhD. He has been a life member of ISTE,ISE & a fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). He has 34 years of Experience in Engineering Education backed up by research credentials and Industrial Experience.

The CITY ENGINEERING COLLEGE offers four programmes in BE with a total approved intake of 450 and one M.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering with an approved intake 24. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering has an intake of 180, Electronics & Communication Engineering 90, Mechanical Engineering 90 and Civil Engineering 90. The Institution is NAAC ACCREDITED. Quality Consciousness is the stepping stone for the Development of the Institution with its functional IQAC. The Departments including the Department of Science & Humanities are well equipped in Class Lab, Library, ICT Infrastructure, and Teaching faculty. The Institution has already imbibed the essentials of Outcome Based Education (OBE) in its functionality. With its Vision/Mission as guiding statements, emphasis is given on Blooms Taxonomy, POs, PEOs & COs which are well understood and implemented in its Curriculum delivery.
